Summary : Medieval motte castle surviving as a damaged earthwork. The motte is oval in shape and is 14 feet high from the bottom of a 7 foot deep ditch which bounds it from the north round the west to the south side. The motte has been quarried into on the south side and the ditch is only recognisable on the west. Scheduled. |

The motte at Yockleton is oval in shape and measures 75 foot by 53 foot on the summit. It stands 14 ft. high from the bottom of the 7 foot deep ditch which bounds it from the north round the west to the south side. On the east side the ground falls a further 7 foot to a mill-race. There is no sign of a bailey. (2-3)
The motte has been quarried into on the south side and the ditch is now only recognisable on the west, across the ridge. Published survey 1:2500 revised. (4)
