ST MARYS CHURCH

Medieval church rebuilt in 1717 by T. Archer and re-roofed during the 19th century. Original church, chancel and nave, encased early 17th century, then transepts added early 18th century to form cruciform church, reroofed 19th century with bellcote on north transept. It is constructed of rubble, flint, stone and coursed ironstone. The ends were rebuilt in Portland stone and a tiled roof. Original church encased early 17th century then transepts added early 18th century.
