Summary : A group of low earthwork remains initially interpreted as enclosures: please note that it is probable that in fact these earthworks relate to the Second World War "Starish" type bombing decoy recorded in the vicinity (see record 1468517).
More information : SK 276 816 Houndkirk Moor. Identified by T C Welsh. Overlain by a
modern rectangular enclosure below Houndkirk Road is a group of
enclosures formed by shallow ditches with external upcast turf banks.
They are respectively internally c30m square with four divisions,
rectangular 14m by 38m, and trapezoidal 38m by 14m. (1)
