More information : SU 10514594: A prehistoric or Roman sub-circular enclosure east of Robin Hoods Ball (SU 14 NW 3). It is just visible on the ground as a very slight bank and ditch. (1)
The cropmark/earthwork remains of the probable Prehistoric enclosure described by the previous authority was seen centred at SU 1049 4593 and mapped from aerial photographs. The enclosure was sub-circular, defined by a single ditch and measured c.46m x 40m. The northern section of the enclosure could not be seen. The area is criss-crossed by numerous military vehicle tracks and practice works.
This site and the surrounding features were mapped at 1:10,000 scale as part of the English Heritage Stonehenge WHS Mapping Project. (2-4)
