Summary : The Fockerby Branch Railway was constructed in 1901-1902, but before completion had been purchased as part of the Axholme Joint Railway. Passenger traffic ceased in 1933 and the line closed in 1965, and was dismantled.

The Axholme Joint Railway (see also SE 70 NE 30) was created in 1902
when the Goole & Marshland Light Railway and the Isle of Axholme LightRailway were bought out by a combine of the North Eastern Railway and
the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. By this time the Fockerby branch
line was already under construction, to open on August 10th, 1902.(2)
