More information : (SE 69924339) Thicket Priory (NR) Benedictine (site of) (1) Priory for twelve nuns, including prioress. Founded 1180, dissolved 1539. (2) The Priory of Thicket. (3) An old wall, the only remains of the house of Benedictine nuns, still visible in 1914. (4) "The ancient building was pulled down about 1850, a great number of Human bones etc were found. The site of the Priory mentioned in Burtons Monasticon, or perhaps the cemetery attached to it". (5)
