More information : SE 415745, Leckby. Mentioned in Domesday Book in 1301 and
again, in association with Cundall and Thornton Bridge (SE 47 SW 5),
in 1334. Now only a few scattered farms but in 1393 there was a
village and common fields. (1)

Most of the fields around Leckby Grange (SE 4136 7478), Leckby Palace
(SE 4160 7403), and Leckby Farm (SE 4164 7374) have been ploughed
and there is no trace or local knowledge of this site.

The name "Chapel Fields" is known locally and still used. The most
likely site for a chapel is the hill centred SE 4160 7490 which is
wooded and covered with scrub and shows no trace of building. (2)
