NEWLAND HOSPITALLERS PRECEPTORY

A preceptory of Hospitallers was established at Newland Hall early in the 13th century, and was dissolved 18th November 1540. The chapel, which was rebuilt in 1519, was not demolished until circa 1860. Some possibly 16th/17th century fabric in the lower courses of a barn may survive from the Preceptory or Chapel.
