More information : Green man Cottages 20 yards west of Green Man public house. Two storey timber frame with brick infill, Tile roof. 1590-1610. Originally one house, it was converted to tenements in the late 18th or early 19th century. The Wing was found to be contemporary with the hall from the evidence of the 1st floor posts. Smoke blackening in the south range indicated a curing loft. Cottages first visited for recording in May 1970, return visit Feb 1986 prior to demolition. (1) |
