Summary : West Ealing station was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1871 as Castle Hill. It comprised a station building on a road bridge over the railway with stairs descening to four platforms of which only two remain in use. Underground rail services arrived here in 1883 when the District Railway opened a short-lived extension over the tracks of the Great Western Railway to Windsor. This service was withdrawn in 1885. The station was renamed West Ealing in 1899.
