Summary : Heathway railway station opened between 1885-8 on the Barking and Pitsea Railway. Underground services arrived here in 1932 when the District re-opened the line east from Barking to Upminster, along with new intermediate stations at Upney, Becontree, Heathway (now Dagenham Heathway), Dagenham (now Dagenham East) and Hornchurch. The station was renamed Dagenham Heathway in 1949.
