More information : (SE 10188643) Dovecote (NR) (Remains of) (NAT) (1) Destroyed. No visible remains. (2) SE 1018 8643. The site was visited during the perambulation of the fields around Coverham Abbey by English Heritage field investigators in June 1999 as part of the National SAMs Survey Pilot Project. No upstanding masonry remains of the dovecote survive but it was clearly part of a wider complex, probably a farmstead, now represented by earthworks (SE 18 NW 330). All that is marked on the OS 1:2500 map of 1893 is Dovecote (Remains of) (3). (4)
