Summary : A railway station and station-master's house built in 1846 by G T Andrews for the York and North Midland Railway. It is constructed from brown and red brick with sandstone dressings with a slate roof. Comprising two storeys and three bays, it has a balanced elevation with outshut to left and rear wing and a Tuscan portico to centre bay. The ground floor has sashes with glazing bars sunk into rectangular recesses with sills and flat gauged brick lintels. The first floor has similar sashes with glazing bars to right and to left and a smaller sash to the centre, all under flat gauged brick lintels. Listed Grade II. |
