More information : A 4th century temple "KI" stands to the west of the Great Foundation. The temple is of the usual type with a "cella" to contain the image of the Diety and a portico or flight of steps in front. Two other temples of later date were discovered towards the south at the foot of the hill (see Illustration Card.) (1)
Square temples circa 275-370 AD. West of the great foundation, contemporary with the Saxon shore fort. Temple with portico or steps on the east. Fragments of pseudo-venus figurine confirm late 3rd century date. (2)
The cult of the "Pseudo-Venus" in Kent. One example from Richborough lay in the remains of a small building resembling in its grand-plan, a temple built in the classical style. (3)
