Poulton Farm, (Poulton Court) Ash. Grade II H-shaped building. The waist of the H is timber-framed, probably built by the Benskin family. It is refaced on the ground floor with brick, now painted, and on the first floor, which oversails on brackets, with tile hanging. Bay w. on ground fl. of 2 tiers of 7 lights with wooden mullions and transoms. Similar oriel window on the first floor above it projecting on 3 brackets. Weatherboarded box effect as if it had once been a gable with the top cut off. Steeply-pitched tiled roof. Casement windows, 2 storeys, 2 windows. The wings were added by Colonel Christopher Kien in the early 18th century. Red brick. Stringcourse, cornice and parapet. Tiled roof. Shaped Dutch gable ends. Casement windows. 2 storeys and attic. The north and south fronts are flanked by pilasters, as is the centre window bay of each which is surmounted by a shaped Dutch gable containing a round attic window. The south front has a sundial in the centre. The south front has 3 windows and 2 dormers, the north front 4 windows and 2 dormers. The interior has Jacobean panelling and the date 1629. (3)
A shallow depression, to the east of the house alongside the road, which is wet in winter, is probably the only remains of the moat. (4)
