Summary : 2nd century Samian bowl found 1951 in laying a water main at Poulton.
More information : A 2nd c. Samian bowl form 31, stamped IVASSI, was found in November
1951 in laying a water main at Poulton, 4 miles NE of Folkestone;
it had been inscribed ALPINIANI.
It passed through many hands before reaching Folkestone Museum where
it is on exhibition. It was donated by a Mr. Wilson of 20, Radnor
Park Road, Folkestone, which address he left at least 4 years ago.
His present whereabouts are not known. (1)
