Summary : Site of a Bronze Age round barrow. It was excavated in 1919 by Harold St George Gray. It had clearly been disturbed in the 19th century - a slight ditch and bank visible over the southern half is probably a fairly modern field boundary, while 19th century pottery was recovered from the disturbed areas. Finds included a few flints, but no burial was located by Gray. Ordnance Survey field investigation in 1954 recorded the barrow as a heather-covered mound 14 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres high. No visible ditch was noted, although Gray recorded traces of one. |
