Summary : Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow, excavated in 1919 by Harold St george Gray. He found no burial, but it is not clear how extensive his excavation was. Finds included burnt flints, worked flint including a scraper, and potsherds described as Iron Age. The finds are in Taunton Museum. Ordnance Survey field investigation in 1954 described the mound as having been extensively damaged by rabbits and a modern road. It was approximately 18 metres in diameter and 0.70 metres high. |

Barrow 5 (St. George Gray Barrow A). A small mound 18m in diameter, excavated by Gray in 1919. Burnt flint and worked flint including a scraper recovered, and Iron Age pottery recovered but no evidence of burials recorded. (5) |
