Summary : A round barrow situated in a prominent position on a gentle southwest slope on the top of a ridge, which falls away very steeply to the south and west. Field investigations carried out in 1957 and 1971 failed to locate the barrow due to dense forest and undergrowth. |
More information : [NU 0748 0158] Tumulus [NR] (1) As the hill has been closely planted with trees by the late Lord Armstrong, the tumulus will be most difficult to find. (2) The tumulus is situated upon a gentle SW slope upon the top of a ridge, which falls away very steeply to the S and W. It is in a prominent position at approx 620 feet above sea level. The area is densely forested with pines and the site was not investigated. (3) Unlocated in dense undergrowth. (4)
