More information : (SY 86679790) Abbot's Court Dairy on site of (NAT) Abbot's Court (NR) (1)
Abbot's Court, a farm which probably came under the Manor of Muston and belonged to the Abbey of Tarrant. At the Dissolution the manor passed to the Tregonwells, who owned the manor until 1765, when it was sold to Thos. Erle Drax, of Charborough. (2)
No trace of antiquity was found amongst the farmhouse or outbuildings known as Abbot's Court Dairy, and no further information was obtained concerning any Medieval establishment. The present owner could not be contacted. The significant name, together with its association with Tarrant Abbey suggests the possibility of this being the site of a Medieval Grange although no evidence was obtained to support this. (3)
