More information : [SD 890 416] Tailor's Cross [T.I.] (1) 'Foulridge Cross - .. stands on a little hill by the roadside about one mile north of Colne Parish Church. The full height of the stone is about six feet, four feet showing above the grass. Mr. Marquis of Colne, on digging found that the cross is socketted into an oval stone pedestal, twleve inches thick four feet long, and three feet wide... the neck mouldings suggests a date somewhere in the 13th C. Known locally as 'The Tailor's Cross.' The stone is of millstone grit'. (2) The Tailors Cross is correctly described by authority 2, it was moved from its original site circa 1930 (a), and placed at SD 8902 4211. GP/AO/61/239/2.shows the eastern aspect. (3)
