Summary : Remains of Bronze Age round barrow re-used as a beacon.

'(14) Tumulus (earth circle) at Pike Low. It has every appearance
of having been explored in the middle.' (2)
'Pikelaw... has much the appearance of a large tumulus but, as its
name indicates, it has long been used for the purposes of a beacon.'

On the hill top there is an irregular mound, averaging a diameter
of approximately 20 feet, and with side slopes of 1 to 3 feet.
It is flat on top. There are a number of loose stones in the vicinity,and on the mound itself. (4)

'A well defined earth circle... at present only partly explored;
exploration will continue...' (5)

Feature re-surveyed at 1/2500 Scale. (6)
