EXETER BRIDGE

DESCRIPTION + /

Medieval bridge first mentioned in 1196 with a chapel at each end. Possibly built on the site of a Roman bridge. The original bridge is thought to have consisted of 17 or 18 arches, but only 8 are now fully visible. Remains of several of the original arches survive on the West Gate side. Scheduled and listed.
