Summary : The Dominican Friary established in Exeter before 1232 was dissolved in 1538. This was later the site of Bedford House which was demolished in 1773.
More information : Site of (TI) Bedford House (GT) formerly (TI) Dominican Priory(GT). (1) "The Dominican Friars' in Bedford Circus had a Prior, so the words "Dominican Priory" must stand. There is a list of the priors in a book 'The Friars of Exeter', by Little in Exeter Research Monographs, published by the University College. (2) Bedford House (G.T.) formerly (T.I.) Dominican Priory (G.T.) (Site of) (T.I.) 1:1250 K.M. 20/9292. (3) The Dominican house established in Exeter before 1232 was dissolved in 1538. This was later the site of Bedford House which was demolished in 1773. (4-5)
