More information : "In a high field called 'CASTLE PARK' in HENNOCK, I met a small earthwork which is evidently sepulchral. The shape is elliptical: and its round is formed of small stones." Opened by the clergyman at HENNOCK who discovered a cist [?] which contained nothing. "On the opposite hill to the East is the old BEACON, about half a mile distant from the Castle Field" [See DEVON 101 NW 3]. (1) No knowledge of site or name [As above]. There is a Castle Park Farm at TRUSHAM. [See Devon 101 NW 3] (2-3) No additional information was acquired locally by myself, or on Devon 101 NE where Trusham is situated, by the Field Investigator, Mr. N.V. Quinnell. (4) Tithe maps for this parish are not available. The warden of the church (there is no incumbent resident) could offer no advice as to their whereabouts. "Personal enquiries of farms in the neighbourhood of HENNOCK, as to the location of CASTLE PARK or CASTLE FIELD, also gave negative results." (5) Enquiries in the area resulted in no add. inf. (6)
