HAMMERTON HALL

House, built circa 1600 on the site of an earlier hall. The stone-built house is E-shaped in plan, the eastern cross wing having been added in the 19th century. There is a stone spiral staircase in the central section of the building. The present house may incorporate the remains of an earlier pele tower.
