Summary : A Medieval defensive tower, possibly late 14th century, on the circuit of the town wall, it was rebuilt in the 19th century.
More information : (SX 80106036) No 10 South Street is a defensive
tower, possibly late 14th century, on the circuit of the town
wall, rebuilt following partial demolition in the late 19th
century. In 1462 it was referred to as "the little house on
the walls" close by the Shambles Gate.

It is now of 3 1/2 storeys with a hipped slated roof and walls
of Devonian limestone, pebble-dashed and slate-hung in places.
