Summary : The westernmost cross shaft of the group of three crosses in the churchyard of St Mary's and All Saints' Curch is circa 2.9 metres tall, and has the remains of a small mutilated 10th century cross head which is not associated with the shaft.

The westernmost of three stone crosses in Whalley churchyard is attributed to the 9th cent. but has a probable 10th cent. head. (2)

Cross A (SD 7324 3615), GP. AO/61/242/5.
Cross B (SD 7325 3616), GP. AO/61/242/6.
Cross C (SD 7327 3616), GP. AO/61/242/7.
A cross head similar to B is built into the outside chancel wall above the string course at SD 7327 3617 and at SD 7326 3617 are further miscellaneous fragments. See AO/61/242/8 for the latter remains. (4)
