Summary :

A Bronze Age summit cairn, now badly disturbed by a conical walkers cairn built in the SW quadrant. It measures 8.5m in diameter, the outer slope is 0.3m high and the interior is scooped to a depth of 0.3m -small boulders and upright slabes are visible. The conical cairn is 2.6m in diameter and 1.5m high. The summit cairn, recorded by previous authorities, is visible as an earthwork on 2021 Historic England orthomosaic aerial photography. The site was mapped from aerial sources in 2023 during the Historic England Dartmoor-Plym project.

A turf covered cairn surmounted by a small cone of stones. Diameter of cairn, 12.5m, height 0.6m. (2)

A flattish cairn, 12.0m in overall diameter and 0.6m high, turf covered except in the centre where an area 5.0m across has been dug into to create a modern cairn 2.5m in diameter and 1.7m high. See photograph.

Listed under round barrows, cairns and cists by Grinsell and visited by him 18 September 1974. (4)

A disturbed cairn set on a slight rise on a rounded highpoint at 46.9m above OD with panoramic vistas in every direction. It measures 8.5m in diameter and the stoney outer slope is 0.3m high; some low upright slabs could be part of a low retaining kerb. The interior of the cairn has been disturbed and robbed to a depth of 0.3m. A conical walkers cairn occupies the SW quadrant -composed of small boulders and slabs it measures 2.6m in diameter and 1.5m high. The cairn lies within an extensive area of commercial peat cutting. The summit cairn, recorded by previous authorities, is visible as an earthwork on 2021 Historic England orthomosaic aerial photography. The site was mapped from aerial sources in 2023 during the Historic England Dartmoor-Plym project. It is centred on SX 61654 67902. The cairn mound measures approximately 12.2m in diameter. The post-medieval/modern stony 'walkers' cairn' mentioned by authority (8) measures at 4m across at its widest point. The small hollow in the interior is 1.1m across. Scheduled monument NHLE 1015740.
