Summary : Promontory fort at Castle Head. This site looks across to the earthwork of Carthamartha on the Cornish side.

A strong promontory fort situated on Castle Head, overlooking
Cornwall. (2)

A vallum and fosse facing northwards extend across the neck of a promontory. the height is circa 15feet. The other three sides are protected by the steep scarp. There are subsidiary earthworks within the area of the camp. The whole area is covered by densew woodland. (2)
