More information : [SX 2574 7159] "Circle discovered by Mr Croft Andrew and an earlier Vicar of St Cleer?". (1) There is no trace of a "circle" in the area of SX 2574 7159 and it is almost certainly the same feature as that at approximately SX 2571 7134 (SX 27 SE 14 - The Pipers) noted by Blight and Crawford. Miss Dudley apparently referred to the former's survey in JIRC so the planned position on the corr. 6" is probably in error. (2) As noted by authority 2, there is no stone circle in the vicinity of Miss Dudley's NG Reference. However it is unlikely that she is referring to The Pipers or Hurlers, neither of which is associated with C K Croft Andrew. What is associated with him and the Vicar of St Cleer is the stone circle at SX 248 718 (SX 27 SW 14), which at the time of her correspondence had not been surveyed on OS plans.
Almost certainly a mis-plot. (3)
