PLACE HOUSE

Mid to late 15th century house, fortified soon after 1457. The present house is mainly early 16th century in date, extensively restored 1817-45. The east front dates from 1791. The south front is broken by two early 16th century bay windows and has a tower at the west end. This replaced an earlier tower which collapsed in the 18th century.
