"There are also within this parish some of the remains of the outworks of Pendennis (SW 83 SW 4), including a redoubt which is almost in a perfect state". (Pendennis Castle was besieged by Parliamentary Forces for five months in 1646 - See SW 83 SW 11 and 22 for other Civil War earthworks.) (3)
Most of this feature was destroyed during the construction of the oil storage depot to the north in the Second World War and the site is partly covered with thick scrub. (4)
