Summary : A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated 500 metres north east of Two Burrows Farm alongside the road from Two Burrows to Mount Hawke. The barrow is 2.8 metres high and 22 metres across with a rounded profile. It has a large central depression which may be the result of antiquarian investigation or internal collapse. There are no visible signs of the barrow having possessed a surrounding ditch. Scheduled. |
More information : (SW 73664692) Tumulus (NR) (1) A 90 ft diameter barrow recorded by Thomas as being one of three known as 'Two Barrows'. Between the two larger barrows (see also SW 74 NW 8) was one of 25 ft diameter, sited by Warner to SW 73624694. (2-3) A 2.4m high bowl barrow. It is not possible to exactly delineate the base because road making materials have been dumped around the barrow. Resurveyed at 1:2500. There is no trace of a barrow at SW 73624694, though a slight natural undulation to the west may have been mistaken for one. (4)
