More information : (SW 710178) Erisey on site of (NAT) Manor House (NR). (1) Erisey, a farmhouse, incorporates remains of Erisey Manor House, which was rebuilt in 1620. It is a 'T'-shaped building, the leg of the 'T' being 17th century and the head 18th century (3). A room above the kitchen is known as the chapel (4). Gd 2 (3). (2-4) SW 71101784. The present Erisey was built probably in the late 18th or early 19th century, however there are some reused remains of an earlier house, not-ably a carved granite doorframe dated 1620 at the rear of the house and a 2-light 17th century granite window in a nearby barn. The"chapel" above the kitchen (4) was probably in the earlier house as there is no knowledge of this feature now (a). Not outstanding. (5)
