The Tresavean branch of the Hayle Railway which was opened in 1838. The branch served as an important link with the mining area around Gwennap. It was closed in 1936. Just outside Redruth (approximately SW 69444153 - SW 69754087) was a half mile long incline. It was worked by steam and had a balanced two rail track system. At the top of the incline was a railway mile post-314 1/2 mile to Paddington. (3-4) |
