CASTLE HILL

Medieval motte and bailey castle surviving as an earthwork. The motte is about 100 feet in diameter at its base and rises 12 feet above the level of the bailey. The top measures about 35 feet across. The ditch between the motte and bailey is traceable although partly filled up by ploughing. A crescentric shaped baliey is situated to the north east. Scheduled.
