The Priory of Lancaster had a grange at Overton, the site of which appears to have been granted about 1272 (1-2)
No trace of this medieval grange was encountered at Overton during field investigation; no evidence about it was noticed when checkinging the Tithe Award Plans of Overton held in Preston Records Office. (3)
