More information : ROMAN ANTIQUITIES [GS] found in various parts of this Park. [Description centred at TQ 4110 8735] (1) "Roman Antiquities consisting of Tesselated Pavement, pottery etc found in various parts of this park from 1726 to 1746" [See TQ 48 NW 16 ] (2) See TQ 48 NW 36 : site of Roman Villa found at TQ 41658715., (3) Artefact (TQ 4110 8735 FCE). No surface remains of a Roman building were found at the given grid reference. The area is covered by ridging, possibly post-medieval planting ridges associated with Wanstead House (TQ 48 NW 13). (4)
