Summary : Augustinian nunnery and priory which has also been described as Benedictine. It was founded circa 1144 and dissolved in 1539. Excavations have located the kitchen, the infirmary, a possible guest house, tenements within the precinct, and three kilns.

The priory of St Mary de Fonte (also of the Assumption) was founded circa 1144 probably for Augustinian canonesses although several authorities give the nunnery as Benedictine. Dissolved circa 1539.
