Summary : A probable Romano British settlement site with pits and finds of pottery.
More information : (Area TQ 3369 1079) RB village site near here. RB sherds abundant over a large area. (1) (Area TQ 3330 1085) Pits and RB pottery in lynchet area. (2) With the exception of well-defined lynchets (now ploughed over) no evidence of a village site was seen in the above areas. (3) Not visible on A/Ps with certainty. (4) Ploughing has now destroyed all traces of the more westerly site; no pottery was found. The more easterly is partly wooded; no settlement pattern is visible. (5)
