Summary : Churchyard Cross on ancient cross base (not in situ). The base of the cross was removed to the churchyard of St Elizabeth's Church in 1950.
More information : [SD 39131329] PEDESTAL OF STONE CROSS [AT] [NOT PUBLISHED ON CURRENT EDITION]. (1) BESCAR BROW CROSS [quoted OS 1st Ed. as sole authority] has disappeared. (2) No traces of a cross are now to be found at this site. (3) "The base of this cross was removed to the churchyard [St. ELIZABETH'S] about 1950 by Father GRIFFEN." SD 39191347 A stone cross base measuring 0.6m. square at the foot tapering to 0.45m. square at the head with an overall height of 0.4m. A central square socket measures 0.25m. and contains a modern churchyard cross standing 1.1m. high above the ancient base. (4)
