Summary : Site of Augustinian monastery founded circa 1193 by Ernald Rufus. It was dissolved in 1537. The site is now occupied by a building constructed from 1547-64, and now a school known as the Abbey.
More information : (TM 27104904) School on site of (NAT) Priory (NR). (1) Augustinian Priory, Woodbridge, founded circa 1193 and dissolved 1537. (2) The priory buildings were destroyed soon after dissolution, and the site is now occupied by a two storied building erected between 1547 and 1564. Extensive alterations and additions were made at later dates. The building is now used as a junior school, known as the Abbey. Grade 2*. (3-4)
