Summary : An alien grange for Benedictine Monks was founded at Creeting St Olave before 1087 and was dissolved in 1360. Messent stated that the Benedictine monks apparently used part of the parish church of St Olave, which has now completely disappeared.
More information : [TM 09975764] ST.OLAVE'S CHURCH [LB] (Site of) (1) The parishes of All Saints and St.Olaves were consolidated about 1711. St. Olave's Church was demolished long before 1764, but was still extant in 1532. (2) An alien priory cell or ? grange for Benedictine (Black) Monks was founded at Creeting St Olave before 1087 and was dissolved in 1360. Messent stated that the Benedictine monks apparently used part of the parish church of St Olave, which has now completely disappeared. (3-4)
