Large unexcavated villa remains lay under and around cottage named "Noah's Ark". 1914-18 war practice trenches cut through walls and pavements, and many portable items were dispersed by the troops (4). A fine greyware vase from the site is now in Leeds Museum 13/1949 and pottery was found in the rabbit scrapes in bank to W. of Railway. Nothing visible on RAF airphotographs, of 1950 O.S. air photographs of 1972 show whole area now quarried away. (2-5)
