More information : (SD 28828822) Church (NR) (Remains of) (1) The old church of Blawith, now ruinous, was built circ 1560, and is situated a few yards away from the present church. In its original state it could have been little better than a barn, of small dimensions, without a tower or steeple. It was rebuilt in 1749, but by 1861 was in so ruinous a condition that a new church was built in 1863. (2-3) The old church remains consist of the walls only, now standing to a maximum height of 4.2m with the gable-ends rising to a maximum height of 6.0m. The remains measure overall 13.7m E-W and 8.7 N-S. A small tower, formerly existed at the western end and measured 2.0m by 4.0m. (4) Condition unchanged. 950
