Summary : Late Georgian farmhouse, on the site of an earlier Wissington Grange which was burnt down. In the Mediaeval period, it was the property of Thetford Augustinian Priory.

"The present house stands on the site of an earlier Wissington Grange, which was burnt down. The property once belonged to Coggeshall Abbey." (2)

The existing house is an uninteresting late Georgian farmhouse in rather poor condition and of little or no architectural interest. There are no traces of a preceding structure remaining. Site of old house marked on 25" AM. (3)

Wiston [ or Wissington ] Grange Manor ...... given by Hugh de Haldane to THETFORD ABBEY ...... (4)
