More information : TL 693111 Roman material recorded found in Hither Dragonfoot field in 1950 by M. Innes. More recent Roman finds include fragments of brick and tile, large flint nodules, a sizeable lump of freestone and pottery sherds (mostly coarse brown-grey but including one flagon neck of buff ware). TL 694111. Roman and Belgic sherds together with Roman plaster, mortared brick, and fragments of stamped flue tile were found by Dan Biglin, 47 Laburnam Avenue, Chelmsford. (Date unknown). (2)
A moderate scatter of Roman building material, indicating the probable site of a building, was seen on the surface of a cultivated field centred TL 69331106. The density was approximately four sherds to the square metre over an area of 50.0m. in diameter. No further information obtained from local correspondents. (3)
