Roman Villa in a field called Gt. Copt Hill on Great Bowsers Farm. Excavated 1852; no visible remains. (2)
The building measured 52' x 17', and was almost equally divided within; the larger half provided with a hypocaust and narrow rooms across width of building, the smaller having rudely formed pavements of broken pottery and bricks. Finds included an illegible third brass, tiles, pottery, glass and a bronze `ligula'. [On the face of it this looks like a bath building.] (3)
Fragments of tegulae, imbrices, box-flue tiles, bricks and sherds of grey-ware, found on surface of Gt. Copt Hill field, centred TL 57784347. No foundations visible. (4)
