CHAPEL OF ST JAMES

DESCRIPTION + /

The possible site of St James' Chapel in Needingworth dating to at least the 13th century. It is reported to have stood in a field called Chapel Close, although there is not physical evidence of this. It is mentioned in 1252 and was still in use, noted as a parish church, in 1552. Despite this it does not appear to have had the right of burial, as parishioners dictated in their wills they be buried at Holywell.
